Coming to our annual scientific meeting at Wintergreen? Bring your techs too! A concurrent continuing education program is offered for ophthalmic technicians during our annual meeting. The Virginia Society of Ophthalmic Medical Personal (VSOMP) hosts this meeting in conjunction with our meeting. Just have your technicians sign up through the Virginia Society of Ophthalmic Medical Personnel (VSOMP) for a fantastic educational meeting.  Reward and invest in your techs. Support them in supporting you!

Check-in  at 7:30am on June 9 at the VSOMP Table for Technicians.

Lectures start at 8:00am. The meeting will provide 13 Group A credits

  • Geoffrey Cooper, MD – Refractive surgery and presbyopia
  • Chris Peebles – How to use amniotic tissue for best results in clinic
  • George Sanborn, MD – Malignant ocular tumors
  • Rhonda Ullum, COT – Lecture and workshop on slip lamp exams

Illusion, Wonder & You   David Reed-Brown is a professional speaker and entertainer who gives people hope through the art of magic. He has been ordained clergy for twenty years and is an interfaith chaplain. He tells wonder-filled stories from life that enlighten, teach and celebrate what it means to be human; overcome challenges; be our truest selves; challenge assumptions, and nurture gratitude, diverse friendships and acts of compassion. He offers a classic magic show that is uplifting and interactive. In his performance members of the audience work wonders. A woman floats herself in mid-air. A four-year-old does sleight of hand. A grandmother with memory issues reads his mind, and from his hands he fills the stage with a rainbow of butterflies. Brown is an entertainment professional who has trained with David Copperfield.
